I’m off to Hue today with
Vietnam Airways. All went well until I arrived at the airport and was given a
boarding pass for a flight some three hours later than the one I booked. What’s
all this then, asked I?
The check-in person rushed off to her supervisor and
came back with the news that the flight had been re-scheduled. In fact the time
passed relatively painlessly and the short flight to Hue was over by 5.30 with
me in the hotel less than an hour later. It was still a lot quicker than the 13
hours the train is timetabled to take.
Hue instantly struck me as a
pleasant and quite laid back place – at least in the tourist area.
